1430 q
Sacramento, CA
1430Q is an eight-story, 158,355-square-foot residential mixed-use project located within the R Street Corridor Special Planning District. The development features ground-level retail and 73 residential units, blending functionality and thoughtful urban design.
The building includes six stories of wood-frame construction (Type III-A with AMMR) above two levels of concrete podium (Type I-A), with the podium optimized to maximize residential unit capacity. To respect the adjacent two-story residential building along Q Street, the tower steps back at the two-story podium, creating a harmonious transition in scale.
Exterior materials such as board-formed concrete and clear glass draw inspiration from the industrial character of the R Street Corridor. The design emphasizes simplicity, avoiding excessive ornamentation in favor of clean lines and industrial-inspired elements, ensuring a cohesive and timeless aesthetic.
