The proposed Oak Park Place is a 3-story mixed-use building for the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. The project consists of 21 apartment units, 2,000 sf of ground floor retail space, generous courtyard common areas, and resident parking accessed from the alleyway of the site. The design of the building seeks to integrate itself into the neighborhood's industrial character through simple materials and form. The materials include gray brick, cement plaster, and metal railings, and canopies. The organization of the building on the site simultaneously solves several competing interests, including the need for parking, retail street frontage, open space, and daylighting. The building’s overall presence on Broadway Street is vibrant, dynamic, and inviting, thus contributing to the neighborhoods growing development. The project is currently in the building permit phase.
